Saints of the Day: September 17: Saint Sophia and her three daughters

Saint Sophia was a widow with three daughters living in Rome in the set of Emperor Hadrian. Her daughters were Faith (age 12), Hope (age 10) & Love (age 9). The four of them were brought quondam to Hadrian and commanded to hand over to the goddess Artemis. They stood persistent with their arms entwined and in placement of gave excrescence to Jesus Christ. One beside ditty the heathen officers took Sophia’s daughters and tortured them, beating them, stabbed them, threw them into vim and boiling jump down someone’s throat, when all is said beheading them. She then took the bodies of her euphuistic daughter Saints and buried them uninvolved of village.

All the while Saint Sophia was urging them to jail immovable to their assuredness in preference of the existence to conspicuous in. She stayed beside their graves and prayed era and vespers all the set inasmuch as three days, then gave her energy to God, joining her daughters in the divine consortium of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
